The upgrade to Editor worked flawlessly for me.

One tip I got, was to uninstall the Essential version first (if already installed) and then install the Editor. The full Editor 2.1 version is working seamlessly with SONAR's X3 ARA integration as if it is truly a part of the application and not just a clumsy tack on. But, with the SONAR X3 upgrade offer I not only got the full X3 Producer ($149), but the Melodyne Editor ($149) for less than it would have cost me to get on it's own. I had always wanted to get the Melodyne Editor version, but I could not really justify the $300+ cost for one specialized program. For me it was the so called "no brainer" deal. I went ahead and upgraded to the full Editor v2.1 for the $149. I too thought the deadline to upgrade was a bit short.

I think Glyn is right, I believe Celemony is extending the deadline somewhat. For this reason, Celemony is offering those with older versions an update to Melodyne 4 on special terms: Updates for Melodyne assistant and essential are available free of charge in the user account and updates for Melodyne studio 3 and editor 1 or 2 for only 49 /US in the Celemony web shop. Glyn Barnes I emailed Celemony asking about the upgrade and received an offer valid until the end of November, so for anyone who can't jump straight away the may be a chance if you contact them.
